Queensland Backpackers Surfer’s Paradise

Surfers Paradise

Queensland backpackers interested in surfing this is the place for you

Though the name might evoke images of barefoot sunbathers dragging around surfboarders, Surfer’s Paradise is actually the commercial hub of the Gold Coast, with excellent shopping and vibrant nightlife. It’s one of Australia’s iconic tourist destinations, marked by luxury high-rise.

Shopping: There is no doubt about it. Surfer’s paradise is the cultural center of the Gold Coast. Cavill Avenue is the heart of the Surfer’s Paradise shopping, boasting a number of high-end stores.

Nightlife: Surfer’s paradise nightlight is all about glitz and glamour. From Las Vegas style nightclubs to raucous bars, the nightlife here is absolutely thriving. Grab a drink in Shooters, a wild-west themed Saloon, or head to Vanity for something more upscale, one of the hottest nightclubs in the city. Don’t miss out on the Schoolies Festival in November and January, it’s the biggest party of the year. The festival refers to the annual tradition of vacation week for high school seniors after their final exams.

Attractions: Be sure to climb up to QDeck for an impressive 360-degree panorama of the Gold Coast. On clear day, you can even see all the way north to Brisbane. And don’t forget to hit the beach. The stretch of beach along Surfer’s paradise was actually named as one of the best beaches in the world by the American Travel Channel. It is home to a number of surf competitions, including the Surf Life-Saving Championships and the Quiksilver Pro-Surfing Competition. However, a word to the wise: the high-rises tend to shade the beach from mid-afternoon and on.
